SafeMark™ is a unique method of identifying pipes and their contents. SafeMark™ can be fitted rapidly without special tools - and they are extremely cost effective. The pipe markers are specially formed from a "memory retaining" material, printed on its inner surface with color coding - text - identification codes - and individual notes if required. The standard pipe markers are both UV resistant and for temperatures up to 80 Deg .C. though higher temperature resistance are in development with our specialist marker range (contact us for more details on temperature resistance). TCI’s SafeMark™ pipe markers fulfil the statutory requirements of typical Health and Safety Regulations around the world, which demands that all employers display appropriate safety signs to advise personnel of the type of gases, liquids and solids within pipes. The pipes must also be clearly marked in critical areas, such as valves and joints - and signs on pipes containing dangerous substances should include approved style pictograms or hazard symbols on a coloured background.
SafeMark™ will not support flame, and, for long life, the markers are reverse printed on the inner face of the marker base which is extremely UV stable. Design life expectancy is in excess of 6 years though some trials have shown no appreciable deterioration over 13 years. Ion chromatography tests prove SafeMark™ generates no significant levels of chloride. Where required, TCI can provide a total service spanning survey - custom design - manufacture - and installation. Contact TCI for further details. After designing your coloured markers we supply black & white artwork for your approval. Markers are normally dispatched 4 to 6 weeks after acceptance of artwork, though we often have stocks of standard colours available for immediate dispatch.
How Does SafeMark Work?
Fitting is a simple process: just unfurl the marker and allow it to snap around the pipe. On a larger diameter pipes - or at exposed locations - we can provide a banding system for additional security. SafeMark can be fitted quickly using any form of plant access equipment, including 'rope access' techniques.
Why Choose SafeMark?1. Safemark™ is less than half the cost of painted on markers over the life of a plant. Health & Safety Regulations now call for:-"all pipework to be identified with the type of materials they contain. They should be clearly marked to highlight flow direction at valves and joints and show pictograms for substances classified as dangerous".
